Welcomed In Belgium

Last week, a few members of our North American team traveled overseas for something special—a cross-functional, international team meetup. Hosted by our colleagues at the Clayton Steam offices in Bornem, Belgium, this trip brought together members from engineering, marketing, sales, and service for several days of collaboration and conversation.

While we maintain regular contact with our international teams, this meeting marked a greater level of connection and collaboration. Over the course of three focused workdays in Bornem and Ostend, we explored a wide range of topics: from social media training and updates on the latest product developments, regional market differences, and shared goals across continents.

One of the most valuable takeaways? Just how strong our European team is. Many of us hadn’t met in person before, but by the end of the trip, it was clear we weren’t just colleagues separated by geography—we were always part of something greater. This visit opened the door for closer collaboration and stronger communication between regions moving forward, something we look forward to immensely. Of course, the time outside of meetings was just as impactful. Shared meals, evening conversations, and plenty of off-hours team building helped us get to know one another beyond job titles and roles.

It’s sort of thing you can’t just recreate digitally, as there’s something irreplaceable about sitting down together, learning about each other’s lives, and bringing that bond into the workplace the next day.

We’re deeply grateful to our Belgium-based team for their incredible hospitality throughout the trip. The warmth and welcome we received made a lasting impression—and we look forward to returning the favor one day soon.
