A Clayton Steam Generator is a once through, forced flow, water tube boiler utilizing a steel, helical coil, heat exchanger. The feedwater pump is a heavy duty, packless and sealess, positive displacement feedwater unit that is designed and manufactured by Clayton and is supplied with each Steam Generator. When the Steam Generator is in operation, this pump continuously supplies feedwater to the helical coil heat exchanger, where heat is transferred from the products of combustion to the feedwater. The flow of feedwater is counter to the flow of the combustions gases, a fact that contributes to the high fuel-to-steam efficiency of Clayton Steam Generators. A mechanical separator at the exit of the coil is used to effectively separate the liquid and vapor and provide high steam quality to your process, 99.5% or higher quality in most cases. Of particular significance is the fact that Clayton Steam Generators do not use a large pressure vessel filled with water. This fact contributes to many of the advantages that Clayton equipment provides. |
